Welcome to my world! I am Evy Hoogstrate, 28-year-old. Although born in the land of tulips and windmills, I was raised in the warm sunlight of the Dordogne in the South of France, where I developed a deep appreciation for culture and language.

A decade ago, I decided to return to my roots in the Netherlands, bringing with me the rich experiences and influences acquired during my time in France. My passion for the French language led me to a fulfilling career as a French teacher in middle and high school, where I imparts not only linguistic knowledge but also a love for the elegance and artistry of the French culture.

In January 2024 I embarked on a new chapter by establishing my own business. My dynamic personality is marked by creativity, a helpful nature, and great organizational skills.

1995 - 1998
Utrecht, The Netherlands
I was born in the beautiful city of Utrecht in The Netherlands. For a short 3 years I lived with my parents and my two brothers in Utrecht and Tiel.
1998 - 2013
Dordogne, France
At the age of three my family and I relocated to the picturesque Dordogne region in France. Raised in a small village, surrounded by the tranquility of nature, I enjoyed a childhood filled with outdoor adventures. My father, an architect, and my mother, a professional translator and interpreter (French, Dutch, English, German), instilled in me a love for creativity and a sense of curiosity about the world.
Growing up, I struck a balance between the simplicity of village life and global exploration. In 2013, I proudly earned my Baccalauréat Sciences Économiques et Sociales, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Fueled by a passion for discovery, I decided to embark on a travel journey, eager to broaden my horizons and experience the diversity the world had to offer.
2013-2014
USA - Spain - The Netherlands
Unsure of my path in life, I set out on an adventure that took me from the vibrant landscapes of the United States to the sun-soaked streets of Spain, and finally back to the comforting canals of my homeland. This journey was not just about ticking destinations off a list; it was a quest to find out where I wanted to live. Traveling taught me invaluable lessons – the benefits of immersing yourself in other cultures, the universal language of kindness, and the importance of communication.
2014-2018
The Netherlands
After this year of travel, I decided to settle back in the Netherlands, though I was still undecided about what I wanted to do. Embracing the diversity of experiences life has to offer, I tried various professions to quench my thirst for knowledge and self-discovery. From engaging in customer service, diving into the world of translation, unleashing creativity as a content creator and photoshopper, to specializing in school photography, each role offered me unique insights and skills. My journey was characterized by frequent moves, each time seeking new opportunities and challenges, determined to uncover the essence of working life and, ultimately, to find where my interests and profession could align
2018-2024
Lieshout, The Netherlands
Thanks to a job and personality test I discovered the field of education would suit me well. This newfound clarity fueled my decision to return to school with a fervent goal: to become a French teacher in a secondary school. Embracing this journey with dedication and enthusiasm, I pursued and achieved my bachelor's degree, marking the beginning of a fulfilling career. Today, I stand before my students as a teacher, a role I not only embody but cherish deeply. Each day in the classroom is a reaffirmation of my passion and purpose, and I am immensely grateful to be where I am, shaping minds and touching lives.

After dedicating a few years to teaching on a part-time basis, I found myself yearning for a new challenge to complement my career. Motivated by this desire for growth and exploration, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey and established Evy Hoogstrate Services, offering a wide array of language services tailored to meet diverse needs. And now here I am, eager to assist you on your journey, blending my passion for education with my entrepreneurial spirit.
